Turkey Gravy From Drippings
A simple and delicious turkey gravy made from drippings, perfect for your Thanksgiving feast.
Ingredients
- turkey broth (4 cups)
- turkey fat (0.25 cups)
- water (0.5 cups)
- all-purpose flour (0.25 cups)

Instructions
- Heat 4 cups of turkey broth, chicken broth, or water to hot but not boiling in a saucepan.
- Carefully lift the cooked turkey from the roasting pan and let it rest on a cutting board. Remove fat from the pan, reserving ¼ cup.
- Deglaze the pan with ½ cup of water or other liquid, scraping the bottom to loosen browned bits. Pour the liquid into the saucepan with hot broth.
- In another saucepan, heat reserved fat over medium heat and whisk in ¼ cup flour. Cook until golden in color, stirring constantly.
- Whisk in the hot turkey broth and deglazed liquid, simmering until thickened (about 5 minutes).
- Season to taste with salt and pepper, and serve in a warm gravy boat or bowl. Optional: garnish with herbs.
