Texas-Style Baked Beans
A hearty and flavorful baked beans dish with bacon, onions, and a blend of sauces and spices.
Ingredients
- butter (1 tablespoon)
- vegetable oil (2 tablespoons)
- red onion (1 medium)
- garlic (2 cloves)
- bacon (1 pound)
- red bell pepper (1 medium)
- jalapeno peppers (3 medium)
- beer (1 cup)
- barbecue sauce (1 cup)
- brown sugar (1 cup)
- molasses (0.25 cup)
- cooked pinto beans (6 cups)
- garlic salt (1 pinch)

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with 1 tablespoon butter.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté onion and garlic in hot oil until onion begins to soften, 5 to 7 minutes. Add bacon, bell pepper, and jalapeños; cook and stir until bacon is browned, 7 to 10 minutes.
- Stir beer, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, and molasses together in a large bowl. Stir in pinto beans, bacon-onion mixture, garlic salt, and pepper. Pour bean mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven until bubbling and browned, about 45 minutes.
