Stewed Cabbage

A simple and hearty stew made with cabbage, butter, onions, and tomatoes.

Ingredients

  • butter (0.25 cup)
  • onions (2 )
  • celery (1 stalk)
  • garlic (2 cloves)
  • cabbage (1 medium head)
  • stewed tomatoes (14.5 ounce)
  • salt (0 )
  • pepper (0 )

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion, celery, and garlic and sauté for 3 to 5 minutes, or until translucent. Stir in cabbage, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  2. Pour in tomatoes and season with salt and pepper to taste. Cover pan and cook over medium heat for 30 to 40 minutes, or until cabbage is tender.
