Spicy Dorito Taco Salad

A crunchy and delicious salad with seasoned ground beef, lettuce, cheese, and creamy dressing, topped with Dorito chips.

Ingredients

  • ground beef (454 grams)
  • garlic powder (0.5 teaspoon)
  • chili powder (0.5 teaspoon)
  • ground black pepper (0.25 teaspoon)
  • lettuce (1 head)
  • tortilla chips (5 cups)
  • Colby-Jack cheese (2 cups)
  • dark red kidney beans (1 can)
  • tomato (1 )
  • onion (0.33 cup)
  • pickled jalapeño peppers (0.25 cup)
  • vegetable oil (1 cup)
  • white sugar (0.5 cup)
  • ketchup (0.5 cup)
  • taco seasoning mix (1 envelope)
  • cider vinegar (2 tablespoons)
  • Worcestershire sauce (1 tablespoon)

Instructions

  1. Cook ground beef, garlic powder, chili powder, and black pepper together in a skillet over medium heat until meat is brown and crumbly, about 10 minutes. Break meat up into chunks as it cooks. Drain excess grease, remove from heat, and let cool.
  2. Toss lettuce, tortilla chips, cheese, beans, tomato, onion, and jalapeño in a large salad bowl. Fold in beef until well combined.
  3. Whisk oil, sugar, ketchup, taco seasoning, vinegar, and Worcestershire together in a bowl until sugar dissolves. Pour dressing over salad and toss again.
