Southern Pecan Pie

A classic Southern recipe for a rich and delicious pecan pie, perfect for dessert.

Ingredients

  • eggs (3 large)
  • white sugar (1 cup)
  • corn syrup (1 cup)
  • butter (2 tablespoons)
  • vanilla extract (1 teaspoon)
  • salt (0.25 teaspoon)
  • pecan halves (1.5 cups)
  • unbaked single crust pie (1 )

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. Beat eggs slightly in a medium bowl. Beat in sugar, then blend in syrup, butter, vanilla, salt, and pecans. Pour filling into unbaked pie shell.
  3. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and continue baking until pie is golden brown and slightly puffed on top, about 35 to 40 minutes.
