Southern Ground Beef and Bean Skillet

A quick and hearty skillet dish featuring ground beef, beans, and vegetables.

Ingredients

  • ground beef (1 pound)
  • diced onion (1 cup)
  • diced green bell pepper (1 cup)
  • garlic, minced (2 cloves)
  • medium salsa (0.25 cup)
  • Greek seasoning (0.5 tablespoon)
  • ground black pepper (0.5 teaspoon)
  • kosher salt (0 )
  • Southwestern-style beans, undrained (1 (15 ounce) can)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Add onion and bell pepper and cook until onion is softened and translucent, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  2. Add in salsa, Greek seasoning, pepper, and salt. Cook and stir until well combined, 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in beans. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer to desired thickness, about 20 minutes. Add water if sauce becomes too thick.
