Sirloin Tips and Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • olive oil (3 tablespoons)
  • garlic (3 cloves)
  • beef sirloin steak (1.5 pounds)
  • mushrooms (1 ounce)
  • tomato sauce (1 ounce)
  • red wine (0.75 cup)
  • salt (0 )
  • black pepper (0 )

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef and sear until browned on all sides, 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Add undrained mushrooms, tomato sauce, red wine, salt, and pepper.
  5. Simmer until beef is tender, about 30 minutes, adding a little more wine if desired. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the beef should read 140 degrees F (60 degrees C) for medium.
