Ingredients
- extra-virgin olive oil (2 tablespoons)
- garlic cloves (2 medium)
- crushed tomatoes (1 can)
- dried basil (0.5 teaspoon)
- dried oregano (0.25 teaspoon)
- sugar (0.25 teaspoon)

- spaghetti or linguine (8 ounces)
- boneless, skinless chicken breasts (2 large)
- egg (1 large)
- dry bread crumbs (0.5 cup)
- extra-virgin olive oil (0.25 cup)
- grated part-skim mozzarella cheese (0.5 cup)
- grated Parmesan cheese (0.25 cup)
Instructions
- To make the tomato sauce: Heat oil and garlic in a large saucepan over medium-high heat until garlic starts to sizzle. Stir in tomatoes, basil, oregano, and sugar; season with salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer; cook until sauce slightly thickens and flavors meld, 10 to 12 minutes. Cover and keep warm.
