Royal Icing
This classic royal icing recipe comes together quickly with just three ingredients, is easy to work with, and sets up nicely.
Ingredients
- pasteurized egg whites (4 )
- sifted confectioners' sugar (4 cups)
- lemon or vanilla extract (1 teaspoon)
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients.
- Beat egg whites in a large glass, metal, or ceramic bowl with an electric mixer at high speed until foamy.
- Gradually add sugar and lemon extract; continue to beat on high speed until thickened.
