Roasted Onions

These tender, caramelized roasted onions are a flavorful and simple side dish, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

  • yellow onion (4 medium)
  • olive oil (2 tablespoons)
  • salt (0 )
  • ground black pepper (0 )
  • balsamic vinegar (2 tablespoons)

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients. Adjust the oven rack to the lowest position; preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Peel onions and cut in half.
  3. Toss onion halves with oil and season generously with salt and pepper.
  4. Place onions, cut-sides down, on a rimmed baking sheet.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven until onions are tender and the cut surfaces are golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven and adjust seasonings if necessary. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar to serve.
