Roast Chicken
A simple roast chicken is the perfect Sunday dinner, or really anytime of the day. Tender, juicy roasted chicken has it all. When made right, chicken comes out with tons of flavor, crispy outsides, and juicy insides.
Ingredients
- whole chicken (1 unit)
- lemon (1 unit)
- fresh rosemary (1 tsp)
- salt (1 tsp)
- black pepper (0.5 tsp)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Remove the backbone from the chicken using a sharp knife or kitchen scissors and flatten it.
- Season both sides of the chicken with salt, pepper, and rosemary.
- Stuff the cavity of the chicken with slices of lemon.
- Place the chicken in a roasting pan, skin side up, and drizzle with olive oil.
- Roast in the oven for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving.
