Penne with Sausage and Broccoli Rabe

Ingredients

  • penne pasta (1 kg)
  • hot Italian sausage (0.5 kg)
  • broccoli rabe (0.5 kg)
  • crushed red pepper flakes (1 tsp)
  • Parmesan cheese (100 g)

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente, drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the hot Italian sausage over medium heat until browned, then remove from the skillet and drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped broccoli rabe to the same skillet and sauté until tender, about 4-5 minutes.
  4. Add the sausage back to the skillet along with the crushed red pepper flakes and cook for an additional minute.
  5. Toss the penne pasta with the sausage and broccoli rabe mixture.
  6. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
