My Grandma's Banana Bread
Ingredients
- bananas (3 pieces)
- all-purpose flour (1.5 cups)
- baking soda (1 teaspoon)
- salt (0.5 teaspoon)
- unsalted butter (0.5 cups)
- sugar (0.75 cups)
- eggs (2 pieces)
- vanilla extract (1 teaspoon)
- walnuts (0.5 cups)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix melted butter with sugar until well combined.
- Add the ripe bananas and mash thoroughly before mixing in the eggs and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in chopped walnuts if using.
- Pour the batter into a greased and floured loaf pan.
- Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
