Mushroom Sauce for Steak

Ingredients

  • extra virgin olive oil (2 tablespoons)
  • sliced fresh mushrooms (1.5 cups)
  • onion (1 small)
  • butter (1 stick)
  • steak sauce (1 tablespoon)
  • Worcestershire sauce (1 teaspoon)
  • salt (0 )
  • ground black pepper (0 )

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Pour olive oil into the skillet. Add mushrooms and onion to hot oil; sauté until soft, 5 to 7 minutes.
  2. Add butter, steak sauce, and Worcestershire; cook until butter melts, about 2 minutes.
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, until mushrooms are very soft, 15 to 20 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Serve hot over any type of steak.
