Mincemeat Pie

A delicious mincemeat pie filled with nuts and apples, perfect for dessert.

Ingredients

  • prepared mincemeat pie filling (1 jar)
  • chopped walnuts (1.5 cups)
  • apples (2 )
  • packed brown sugar (0.5 cup)
  • rum (0.25 cup)
  • lemon juice (1 tablespoon)
  • refrigerated premade pie crusts (2 )

Instructions

  1. Combine mincemeat, walnuts, apples, brown sugar, rum, and lemon juice in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  2. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Adjust a rack to the lowest position.
  3. Let filling come to room temperature. Meanwhile, prepare pie crusts. Line a 9-inch pie plate with one pie crust.
  4. Stir mincemeat filling well, then pour into the prepared pie plate. Top with second pie crust and make slits or a lattice top. Crimp edges.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 40 minutes.
