Meemaw's Pecan Pie
Ingredients
- light corn syrup (1 cup)
- large eggs (3 )
- vanilla extract (2 tsp)
- white sugar (0.75 cup)
- salt (0.25 tsp)
- butter (2 tbsp)
- chopped pecans (0.5 cup)
- unbaked pastry crust (1 )
- pecan halves (0.5 cup)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Mix the corn syrup, eggs, vanilla, sugar, salt, and butter or margarine in a large bowl. Stir the chopped pecans into the corn syrup mixture.
- Press the pastry crust into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie pan. Flute the edges.
- Pour the filling into the crust, then arrange the pecan halves on top.
- Bake for 45 minutes to an hour, or until the filling is set.
