Mashed Turnips

A creamy, buttery mashed turnip dish that's a perfect side for any meal.

Ingredients

  • turnips (7 large)
  • milk (1 cup)
  • butter (2 tablespoons)
  • salt (0 )
  • black pepper (0 )

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook turnips until tender, 35 to 45 minutes. Strain and rinse.
  2. Mash turnips with a potato masher in a large mixing bowl. Add milk and butter. Mash to desired consistency and season with salt and black pepper; serve hot.
