Mascarpone Mashed Potatoes

Creamy mascarpone cheese creates wonderful texture and a buttery, golden-brown crust. Make these mashers in advance; spoon them into a casserole, and then simply bake until the tops are beautifully golden brown. They're so good, gravy is almost optional.

Ingredients

  • mascarpone cheese (250 grams)
  • butter (115 grams)
  • potatoes (1 kilogram)
  • milk (120 milliliters)
  • salt (1 teaspoon)
  • black pepper (0.5 teaspoon)
  • gravy (1 cup)

Instructions

  1. Boil the potatoes in salted water until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes; drain well.
  2. In a large bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, butter, milk, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mash the potatoes, then mix them with the mascarpone mixture until smooth and creamy.
  4. Transfer to a greased baking dish.
  5. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  6. Bake until golden brown, about 25-30 minutes.
