Make-Ahead Stuffing

Try make-ahead stuffing this Thanksgiving to save time and oven space. Who doesn’t love a low-maintenance side dish?

Ingredients

  • butter (1 cup)
  • onion (2 cups)
  • celery (2 cups)
  • dry bread crumbs (16 cups)
  • salt (1 tablespoon)
  • poultry seasoning (2 teaspoons)
  • ground black pepper (0.5 teaspoon)
  • dried thyme (0.5 teaspoon)
  • dried sage (0.5 teaspoon)
  • chicken broth (2 cups)

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients.
  2. Melt butter in a large, deep skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add onion and celery; cook and stir until tender, about 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in bread crumbs, salt, poultry seasoning, pepper, thyme, and sage until well mixed.
  5. Stir in enough chicken broth to moisten.
  6. Remove from the heat and let cool to room temperature.
  7. Spoon into large resealable bags and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
