Kielbasa and Pierogi Skillet

A hearty dish featuring kielbasa sausage, egg noodles, and pierogis tossed in a buttery cabbage and onion mixture.

Ingredients

  • unsalted butter (2 tablespoons)
  • sweet onions (2 )
  • cabbage (1 head)
  • medium egg noodles (0.5 (12 ounce) package)
  • kielbasa sausage (1 (16 ounce) package)
  • frozen mini pierogis (2 (12.8 ounce) boxes)
  • salt (0 )
  • ground black pepper (0 )

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large, nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add onion; cook until very tender, about 10 minutes. Stir in as much cabbage as fits in skillet; cook until cabbage is very tender, about 15 minutes. Stir in remaining cabbage as mixture cooks down.
  2. Meanwhile, fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rapid boil. Cook egg noodles at a boil until tender yet firm to the bite, about 5 minutes. Drain well in a colander set in the sink.
  3. Stir kielbasa into cabbage mixture; cook until warm, 3 to 5 minutes. Fold in egg noodles, then gently fold in pierogis. Cover skillet; cook until pierogis are hot in the center, about 10 minutes more. Season with salt and black pepper.
