How to Make Gravy Without Drippings
A rich and flavorful turkey gravy made without pan drippings, perfect for Thanksgiving.
Ingredients
- butter (2 tbsp)
- all-purpose flour (2 tbsp)
- turkey stock (2 cups)
- poultry seasoning (1 tsp)
- salt (1 tsp)
- ground black pepper (0.5 tsp)
- celery salt (0.25 tsp)
Instructions
- Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat until slightly brown.
- Whisk in flour and cook until no lumps remain and roux is lightly browned and bubbling.
- Gradually whisk in turkey stock, stirring up any roux stuck to the bottom of the pan. Season with poultry seasoning, salt, pepper, and celery salt.
- Bring gravy to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer until thickened, 8 to 10 minutes.
