Homemade Stuffing

Ingredients

  • bread (12 cup)
  • celery (1 cup)
  • onion (1 cup)
  • unsalted butter (1 cup)
  • chicken broth (2 cup)
  • sage (1 tbsp)
  • thyme (1 tbsp)
  • salt (1 tsp)
  • black pepper (1 tsp)
  • eggs (2 count)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and celery, and sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread, sautéed vegetables, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  4. Pour the melted butter and beaten eggs into the bread mixture, and gradually add chicken broth. Mix until well combined and slightly moist.
  5. Transfer the stuffing mixture into a greased baking dish.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
