Homemade Stuffing
Ingredients
- bread (12 cup)
- celery (1 cup)
- onion (1 cup)
- unsalted butter (1 cup)
- chicken broth (2 cup)
- sage (1 tbsp)
- thyme (1 tbsp)
- salt (1 tsp)
- black pepper (1 tsp)
- eggs (2 count)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and celery, and sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread, sautéed vegetables, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the melted butter and beaten eggs into the bread mixture, and gradually add chicken broth. Mix until well combined and slightly moist.
- Transfer the stuffing mixture into a greased baking dish.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
