Homemade Shake 'N Bake
Create your own flavorful Shake 'N Bake coating at home using common pantry ingredients.
Ingredients
- breadcrumbs (1 cup)
- paprika (1 tablespoon)
- garlic powder (1 tablespoon)
- onion powder (1 tablespoon)
- dried thyme (1 teaspoon)
- dried oregano (1 teaspoon)
- salt (1 teaspoon)
- black pepper (0.5 teaspoon)
- optional: protein of choice (chicken, pork, fish) (1 pound)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C).
- In a bowl, mix together breadcrumbs, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, oregano, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Lightly moisten your protein of choice with water or a beaten egg.
- Place the protein in a plastic bag along with the coating mixture. Seal the bag and shake until each piece is evenly coated.
- Arrange the coated protein on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a wire rack.
- Bake boneless proteins for 20 minutes, or until cooked through. Bone-in proteins may take about 45 minutes.
