Homemade Pizza Recipe

Ingredients

  • all-purpose flour (5 cups)
  • warm water (1.5 cups)
  • active dry yeast (2 tsp)
  • sugar (1 tbsp)
  • salt (1 tbsp)
  • olive oil (2 tbsp)
  • pizza sauce (1 cup)
  • mozzarella cheese (2 cups)
  • pepperoni (1 cup)
  • bell peppers (0.5 cups)
  • onion (0.5 cups)
  • italian seasoning (1 tbsp)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add olive oil, flour, salt, and italian seasoning to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) with the Lodge Cast Iron Pizza Pan inside.
  6. Roll out the dough to fit the pizza pan and transfer it to the pan once it's stretched out.
  7. Spread the pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a small edge for the crust.
  8. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce, then top with pepperoni, bell peppers, and onion as desired.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden brown.
