Homemade Pizza Recipe
Ingredients
- all-purpose flour (5 cups)
- warm water (1.5 cups)
- active dry yeast (2 tsp)
- sugar (1 tbsp)
- salt (1 tbsp)
- olive oil (2 tbsp)
- pizza sauce (1 cup)
- mozzarella cheese (2 cups)
- pepperoni (1 cup)
- bell peppers (0.5 cups)
- onion (0.5 cups)
- italian seasoning (1 tbsp)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add olive oil, flour, salt, and italian seasoning to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) with the Lodge Cast Iron Pizza Pan inside.
- Roll out the dough to fit the pizza pan and transfer it to the pan once it's stretched out.
- Spread the pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a small edge for the crust.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce, then top with pepperoni, bell peppers, and onion as desired.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden brown.
