Filipino Lechon Sauce

Ingredients

  • water (1.5 cups)
  • white vinegar (1 cup)
  • brown sugar (0.5 cup)
  • soy sauce (2 tablespoons)

Instructions

  1. Combine liver spread with water in a bowl until it forms a paste; stir in vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce, bay leaves, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic; sauté until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes. Add liver spread mixture; boil 2 minutes, stirring until combined. Stir in bread crumbs; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, until thickened, about 20 minutes. Add cornstarch to thicken sauce if necessary.
