Filipino Lechon Sauce
Ingredients
- liver spread (0.396 can)
- water (1.5 cups)
- white vinegar (1 cup)
- brown sugar (0.5 cup)
- soy sauce (2 tablespoons)
- bay leaves (3 )

- ground black pepper (0 )
- olive oil (3 tablespoons)
- onion (1 medium)
- garlic (2 cloves)
- dry bread crumbs (0.5 cup)
- cornstarch (1 tablespoon)
Instructions
- Combine liver spread with water in a bowl until it forms a paste; stir in vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce, bay leaves, salt, and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic; sauté until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes. Add liver spread mixture; boil 2 minutes, stirring until combined. Stir in bread crumbs; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, until thickened, about 20 minutes. Add cornstarch to thicken sauce if necessary.
