Double Decker Tacos
A delicious twist on traditional tacos, featuring a crispy taco shell surrounded by a soft flour tortilla and filled with seasoned beef and topped with all your favorite garnishes.
Ingredients
- ground beef (454 grams)
- taco seasoning mix (28 grams)
- refried beans (454 grams)
- water (158 milliliters)
- prepared crisp taco shells (12 )
- avocados (2 )
- sour cream (15 grams)
- fresh lime (1 )
- salt and black pepper (0 )
- flour tortillas (12 (7 inch))
- shredded Cheddar cheese (240 grams)
- shredded lettuce (75 grams)
- tomato (1 large)
- red onion (25 grams)
- sour cream (120 grams)
Instructions
- Place the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat and sprinkle about 3/4 of the packet of taco seasoning over the meat. Cook and stir until browned and crumbly, about 10 to 15 minutes. Drain excess grease.
- Mash the refried beans with the water in a small saucepan, adding the rest of the seasoning. Heat over low until simmering.
- Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Place taco shells on a baking sheet and warm in the oven for 3 to 5 minutes.
- To make guacamole, mash the avocados in a bowl with 1 tablespoon of sour cream, lime juice, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- To build the tacos, spread each flour tortilla with about 2 tablespoons of heated refried beans. Wrap the tortilla around a crisp shell. Fill with 2 tablespoons of ground beef, 2 tablespoons of shredded Cheddar cheese, and top with shredded lettuce, tomato, onion, sour cream, and guacamole.
