A delicious casserole featuring layers of thinly sliced potatoes, ground beef, cheese, and a creamy sauce.

Ingredients

  • nonstick cooking spray (0 )
  • potatoes (3 cups)
  • butter (2 tablespoons)
  • salt (0.5 teaspoon)
  • ground beef (1 pound)
  • cream of mushroom soup (1 (10.5 ounce) can)
  • shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (1.5 cups)
  • milk (0.5 cup)
  • salt (0 )
  • ground black pepper (0 )

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Spray a 9x13-inch casserole dish with nonstick spray.
  2. Place sliced potatoes in a large bowl. Pour melted butter over top and sprinkle with salt; mix until potatoes are thoroughly coated. Line the bottom and sides of the prepared casserole dish with potatoes, overlapping as needed.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven until potatoes are fork-tender, about 20 to 30 minutes.
  4. While the potatoes are baking, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir ground beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain and discard the grease.
  5. Transfer the beef to a large bowl and add condensed soup, ¾ cup of Cheddar cheese, and milk. Season with salt and pepper; mix until well combined.
  6. Remove the potatoes from the oven. Pour the beef mixture over the top and return to the oven. Bake until heated through, about 15 minutes. Sprinkle remaining Cheddar over the top and bake until melted, about 4 to 5 more minutes.
