Cheddar Pear Pie
A delicious pie filled with fresh pears and topped with a savory cheddar crumble.
Ingredients
- all-purpose flour (0.5 cup)
- brown sugar (0.5 cup)
- shredded Cheddar cheese (0.5 cup)
- unsalted butter (0.25 cup)
- peeled and sliced pears (6 cups)
- fresh lemon juice (1 tablespoon)
- brown sugar (0.5 cup)
- cornstarch (3 tablespoons)
- ground cinnamon (0.75 teaspoon)
- unbaked pie crust (1 )
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- Combine flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and Cheddar cheese in a bowl. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Set aside.
- Toss pears with lemon juice. Combine 1/2 cup brown sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon in a separate bowl. Add sugar mixture to the pears and toss to coat.
- Transfer pears to pie crust and top with crumble mixture. Bake in the preheated oven until the top is golden brown, about 45 minutes.
