Caramel Popcorn Balls

An old-fashioned Halloween treat that combines the sweetness of caramel with popcorn for a delicious, nostalgic snack.

Ingredients

  • popcorn (12 cup)
  • butter (1 tablespoon)
  • brown sugar (1 cup)
  • light corn syrup (0.5 cup)
  • vanilla extract (1 teaspoon)
  • salt (0.5 teaspoon)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, pop the popcorn according to package directions. Set aside in a large bowl.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar, corn syrup, vanilla extract, and salt.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly, and allow to boil for 4-5 minutes without stirring.
  4. Remove from heat and pour over popcorn, tossing to coat evenly.
  5. While warm, shape the mixture into balls and set on wax paper to cool.
