Broccoli with Lemon Butter Sauce

A quick and easy side dish of broccoli cooked with a zesty lemon butter sauce.

Ingredients

  • butter or margarine (0.25 cup)
  • water (0.25 cup)
  • lemon (1 )
  • cayenne pepper (0.25 teaspoon)
  • salt (0 )
  • pepper (0 )
  • frozen broccoli florets (1 (16 ounce) package)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, combine the butter, water, lemon juice, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  2. Add the broccoli to the pan, stir to coat, and cover with a lid.
  3. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes over medium-low heat, stirring once, until broccoli is tender but still bright green.
  4. Serve warm, or refrigerate and serve cold.
