Basic Congee

A simple rice porridge made from stock and rice, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

  • stock (7 cups)
  • rice (1 cup)
  • salt (0.25 teaspoon)
  • ginger (3 tablespoons)

Instructions

  1. Add stock, rice, salt, and ginger to a large saucepan, and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally, making sure rice does not stick to the bottom. Reduce the heat to low; simmer for 1 hour.
