Aldi's Holiday Panettone
Aldi's traditional panettone, made in Italy and offered in two flavors: traditional with dried fruit or chocolate chip.
Ingredients
- dried fruit (1 bag)
- flour (0.5 kg)
- sugar (200 grams)
- butter (100 grams)
- milk (250 ml)
- yeast (10 grams)
- eggs (4 items)
- salt (5 grams)
- candied orange peel (100 grams)
Instructions
- Combine warm milk and yeast in a bowl and let it sit until foamy.
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead in the dried fruit and candied orange peel until evenly distributed.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for 2 hours or until doubled in size.
- Shape the dough into a round and place it in a panettone mold.
- Let the dough rise again for about 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Bake the panettone for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool upside down to maintain its fluffy structure.
